The Consumer Directed Care model is one where consumers control and choose the services they get, including what, when, how, where and who provides those services. The 2009 Economic Audit Commitee's report, "Putting the Public First", suggests that self-directed care is one of the ways in which the State Government should be moving to improve the efficiency and appropriateness of service delivery.
In June 2010 COTA WA held a conference to explore the issues surrounding this care model for seniors (Click here to view the event schedule). Below are the notes from several of the guest speakers from the event.
